About: International Student Exchange, Inc. (ISE) fulfills its mission of “Educating Tomorrow’s Leaders” by bringing together foreign teens, volunteer host families, and local American high schools. The ISE exchange program allows students to become familiar with the American way of life by experiencing American schools, families, and communities. American families learn about foreign cultures and make lasting friendships with the students hosted in their homes.
Academic Year Twelve Month, Ten Month, or Academic Semester Program: International Student Exchange provides a twelve-month, ten-month, first-semester, or second-semester program for high school students. After students have been carefully screened for language, grades, and overall suitability for the program, ISE provides placement in public, or upon written request, private high schools. Participants live with volunteer host families while they attend high school. Participants in the twelve-month program have the option of returning to their home countries for the summer. Counseling by local area representatives is provided for the length of the students’ stay.
Are you an educator looking for a rewarding way to earn supplemental income this summer? Consider becoming a recruiter for our Summer Recruitment Program! This unique cultural exchange program is not only a fantastic way to make some extra money but also a chance to foster global connections right in your community.
What’s Involved? As a summer recruiter, your role will be to find volunteer host families for international exchange students arriving in August. These students will attend the nearest public high school to their host family, providing a rich, immersive educational experience for both the students and the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruit Host Families: Connect with local families who are interested in opening their homes to international teens. This is a great way for families to experience a new culture and create lasting international friendships.
Conduct In-Home Interviews: Visit potential host families to assess their suitability for hosting an exchange student. This involves ensuring they understand the responsibilities and benefits of being a host family.
Assist with Applications: Help families complete the necessary hosting application, ensuring all details are accurate and complete.
Why Participate? Not only will you earn supplemental income, but you’ll also play a crucial role in promoting cultural exchange and understanding. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet new people, learn about different cultures, and make a positive impact in your community. Extended Opportunities For those interested, there is also a non-seasonal supervision position available, extending from August through June. This role allows you to continue supporting the homestay journey throughout the school year. Join us this summer and become a bridge between cultures, all while earning extra income.
